Ober Gatlinburg may look like a traditional Ski Park from the outside, but Ober Gatlinburg is a year-round attraction in East Tennessee. Although Ober does thrive in the winter season, they offer plenty of experiences during the year.
ALL THINGS SNOW
Ober Gatlinburg opens the slopes in early December and closes them in early March, leaving plenty of time for all skiers and snowboarders to get some shredding time in. Ober offers snowboarding and skiing lessons to anyone looking to pick up this sport and has state-of-the-art equipment and gear.
If you’re not into skiing or snowboarding, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of attractions Ober offers. There is an indoor ice skating rink that is open year-round, and is reasonably priced for anyone looking to have some fun out on the ice! During the winter, there is also snow tubing, ice bumper cars, and an alpine slide. Make sure to ride the 120 passenger Aerial Tramway for breathtaking views of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding Smoky Mountains. The tramway will take you to the top of the mountain where you can ice skate, catch a ride on the Scenic Chairlift, take a descent down the Alpine Slide, visit the Wildlife Encounter (featuring black bears, bobcats, & otters), splash around in the water rides, shop, eat, and experience the thrill of the Ski Mountain Coaster! Ober Gatlinburg is perfect for everyone and anyone wanting to get active, have fun, and make memories in the snow!
